This June, Pottermore is launching the official Wizarding World Book Club with Bloomsbury and Scholastic.
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Pottermore invites fans old and new to join the Wizarding World Book Club – a free, online club to examine and debate every book in the Harry Potter series.
The Wizarding World Book Club kicks off in June, and to take part you just need to read (or re-read) a Harry Potter book each month – or more, as the books get longer. You can then join in a conversation about it on Twitter, or simply check Pottermore to learn more about each story.
Whether you’re a newcomer, or have read the books a thousand times over, the Wizarding World Book Club is the place for everyone to join the discussion on each of the seven Harry Potter stories.
There will be many ways to participate too. Each week, a new theme from the Harry Potter stories will be discussed over on Pottermore’s brand new Wizarding World Book Club Twitter account, @WWBookClub.
Register with Pottermore and you’ll soon be able to check out the Wizarding World Book Club dedicated section of the site, read new articles about each theme and even gather rewards for your reading progress.
Hermione would most certainly approve.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
The Wizarding World Book Club’s opening book is, of course, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and the themed weeks officially begin on Monday 26 June. Here’s a little bit about what you can expect as the Book Club officially begins…
About the themes
During June and July, we’ll be exploring the themes of Magic and the Muggle world, first impressions, education, friendship and heroes and villains – key themes that run deep within the first book, Philosopher’s Stone. And while you’re busy reading (or re-reading) the first book, look forward to more Book Club treats coming soon, including new articles examining all things Potter and iconic book extracts.
How to take part
Make sure you introduce yourself on our Twitter, @wwbookclub on Friday 23 June, where the intense discussions can officially begin.
I am so excited to re-read the Harry Potter series. I have been planning on re-reading it for the past few months, and this just gives me more motivation! Will you be joining in as well?
