Day 15: Sunday, April 15th
I managed to get a lot of writing done on my cross country flight. I set a writing goal of 3,000 words for myself and I managed to surpass it by cranking out 3,200 words all together! Well done me!
Days 16-19: Monday, April 16th – Thursday, April 19th
My flight back to Seattle from the east coast departed at 9ish pm on Monday evening, which meant that I was too tired and too exhausted from my all-day interview to try to write on the flight back. I immediately regretted that decision though because I didn’t manage to sleep on the very long 6 hour flight. My flight also didn’t land until about 1am on Tuesday morning, which meant I didn’t get home until about 2am and that I had been awake for almost 24 hours straight. Needless to say, I took Tuesday off from work and caught up on some much needed sleep.
Wednesday was a wash as I was busy catching up at work for the two days that I had missed, as well as catching up on sleep. Thursday was also a wash because it turned into a much needed impromptu date night with the husband; we went and saw A Quiet Place, which was magnificent – 10/10 recommend you go see it!
Going into this weekend, I am still feeling positive and confident about my writing goals though – maybe it’s just blind optimism, but I’m rolling with it. I don’t have to travel anywhere, the husband is working and will be busy with classes, so I should be able to crank out a bunch of writing the next three days. The plan is to make sure I don’t mentally exhaust myself at work tomorrow so that I can write into the late hours on Friday night and start the weekend off on a good writing note. I imagine that copious amounts of coffee will be consumed in the next three days.
